Community Code
StepMatches is a place for dancers to find practice partners, social-dance partners, and friends. We expect every member to keep it that way. This Code is the short version of what’s on us and what’s on you.
Be a real person
- Use your own photos and real first name.
- Don’t impersonate anyone or run a fake profile.
- You must be at least 18.
Be a good partner
- Treat everyone with respect on and off the floor.
- No harassment, threats, intimidation, or hate speech.
- Consent matters — in conversation, in dance, everywhere.
Keep it on-topic
- StepMatches is for dance. Not commercial promotion, not dating-only.
- No spam, no scams, no chain messages.
- No sexually explicit content in profiles or messages.
Protect each other’s privacy
- Don’t share screenshots of other members’ profiles or messages outside StepMatches. (We block screenshots in chat for this reason.)
- Don’t post anyone’s personal info without permission.
What happens if you cross a line
Other members can report you or block you from the profile or chat menu. Reports go to our safety team, which reviews them within 24 hours. Depending on severity we’ll warn, remove content, suspend, or permanently remove an account. Repeat offenders are banned.
